5 Myths About Moving

5 Myths About Moving

There are many myths out there when it comes to the moving industry, but just like the myth busters we are here to debunk some of those myths.

1. All movers are the same. Hire the first movers you find.
Not all movers are the same. Moving is a process and it pays off to do your homework. With a little research you can find out which movers are reputable and which are rouge movers. Look for testimonials and the approval from accredited site such as the Better Business Bureau.

2. Any moving box will do.
While we fully support recycling boxes, not all boxes were made for moving. When looking for boxes remember they need to be sturdy and reinforced in or to handle heavy items. Even with the strongest box it is important to remember to back heavy things such as books in a smaller box.
3. Labeling boxes is a waste of time.
Labeling will save you a lot of time when unpacking your items at your new place. The more detailed you are the better. It will also help your movers so they know what room each box should go in.
4. I have to pack everything myself.
That is entirely up to you, if you’ve hired a full service moving company just let them know ahead of time you would like their help. While packing some things by yourself is fine, it is a good idea to have the professionals pack your more fragile items.

5. I have to ride with the movers in the truck.
If you really want to… we’re kidding! Movers are hired to move your stuff not you. While on this topic let us debunk one more myth, that all movers are crabby. This is not true, most are very friendly!
