We recently had the pleasure of performing an interstate move for the Nicholson family, when Craig Nicholson was hired as the new Women’s Softball Coach at Arizona State University. Craig quickly flew from Indiana to Tempe, and so his wife April and four children took on the task of getting the family’s house all set for a move. Having been a good partner with ASU over the years, the school turned to Dircks to help with every aspect of the job, from packing the Nicholson’s belongings, to looking out for the kids’ “must-haves”, to spending some quality time with Reese, the family dog.
“We’ve moved before for work, but with four kids in the family now, we knew this would be a big job and that we needed some help,” said April Nicholson.“Dircks was just great for us. I’m now a big advocate of packing services, as the Dircks team really helped us with packing everything up, getting things up and down the stairs, and getting everything organized and ready to unpack in our new home.
“But it was the personal touches that made the most difference. My youngest daughter was uncertain about what was going on with the move, and the Dircks team took time to talk with her about what they’d be doing, assuring her that all of her things would make it to Arizona nice and safe, and they even let her explore the truck before packing anything. It really helped calm her down. “Also, my daughter became upset when she couldn’t find her collection of lip glosses, which were hidden in the basket attached to her bicycle. Without being asked, the Dircks team found the lip gloss on the truck because they saw how important it was for her to have them. A small touch, but it went a long way!
“We honestly thought the biggest problem would be our pet yorkie, Reese, who can be uptight around strangers. The head of the Dircks crew already had dog treats ready, and he spent time getting to know Reese. And they became fast friends … it was amazing! “The moving experience with Dircks was fabulous, and I cannot say enough good things about how professional they are. This was the first time I’ve taken advantage of a full-service mover, and I can honestly say that I’ll never do it any other way. Thanks Dircks!”
