After three years of legal filings, the United States Patent and Trademark Office recently issued a patent to UniGroup for the method and technology behind Quotes-To-Go®. The patent signifies that Quotes-To-Go is so innovative and useful that it deserves protection under the U.S. Constitution.

“This is a significant milestone for Mayflower in positioning the technology as a lasting competitive advantage,” said UniGroup General Counsel Jan Alonzo.

UniGroup originally introduced the tool to its agency locations in 2010, with full adoption being completed in January 2012. The web-based tool allows Mayflower sales representatives to offer customers real-time pricing, side-by-side moving quote comparisons, eAcceptance to start the move process and flexibility to introduce dynamic pricing and booker adjustments.

“Quotes-To-Go is only a reality because of agents’ engagement and adoption throughout the entire process and the efforts of the development team,” said Casey Ellis, senior vice president of sales and one of the executive leaders of the project.

“By asking the right questions and engaging the right people, we were able to create a one-of-a-kind, web-based quoting tool that gives us a competitive advantage in the market.”
