Low Estimates
Beware of low-ball price quotes. The saying, “If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is,” applies to moving estimates. In most cases, a moving company will give you a very low quote and then continuously raise the prices for services you have never even heard of. They will promise you to get the job done in a short amount of time over the phone.This is very common and makes it easy to detect the frauds.
Large Deposit
Do not trust moving companies that demand cash or a large deposit. Your valuables should be enough of a deposit, and paying with cash can harm you down the line. If you pay with cash, there is no way to dispute false charges with a credit card company. If there is no money trail, there is no way to hold the movers, who have your items, accountable.
