How Dircks Moved ASU Football’s Gear to London for the Union Jack Classic
Dircks Moving & Logistics, an ASU Football partner since 1990, handled the ground logistics that got Arizona State’s equipment to London for the Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium on September 19, 2026. Our trucks moved the team’s gear in three directions: a semi from Tempe to New York in late July for ocean shipping, plus loads from Tempe and College Station, Texas, to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport for the team’s London charter.

Quick facts

Moving a football program across the Atlantic
Before the Sun Devils could take the field in London, everything they needed had to make the journey too. That meant planning months ahead and splitting the move between ocean freight and the team’s charter flight.
Tempe to New York by semi, then across the Atlantic by boat
In late July, nearly two months before kickoff, a Dircks semi hauled a full load from Tempe to New York. We unloaded it at the dock so it could be shipped across the Atlantic by boat.

Tempe and College Station to DFW for the charter
The rest of the gear flew with the team. Around ASU’s September 12 game at Texas A&M, we ran loads from both Tempe and College Station to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to go on the London-bound charter.
It took a lot of coordination to get everything where it needed to be.
What happened at Wembley
The trip paid off. On September 19, in front of 46,523 fans, the Sun Devils beat Kansas 24-17 in the inaugural Union Jack Classic, highlighted by Jaren Hamilton’s 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Bringing the gear home
Our part isn’t over yet. In October, we’re picking up the gear that crossed the Atlantic when it returns to New York and bringing it home to Tempe.
As an ASU Football partner since 1990, we’re honored to have helped make this historic trip possible. Forks Up!
